The Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Michael Anoka FNSE, has called on the people of Ndokwa Nation to remain patient and continue to support the state government as efforts intensify to resolve the electricity challenges affecting communities in the area.
Anoka made the appeal on Wednesday in Utagba-Uno during the inauguration of the 18-kilometers road projects by the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori
According to the Commissioner, despite setbacks caused by the activities of vandals, the state government remains committed to restoring stable electricity supply across Ndokwa Nation and ensuring that the current challenges become a thing of the past.
He disclosed that the Ministry of Energy has been working tirelessly to find lasting solutions to the problem. “As part of these efforts, the ministry have been engaging stakeholders in the power sector, under the directive of Governor Oborevwori, including the BEDC, the TCN and others, to facilitate a smooth and speedy reconnection,” he said.
Engr. Anoka urged Ndokwa people to keep faith with the government and trust the ongoing process, assuring them that significant sacrifices and strategic interventions are being made to reconnect all affected communities.
The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for appointing him, an Ndokwa son, to lead the Ministry of Energy, noting that the decision demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to addressing the concerns of Ndokwa people with urgency and understanding.
He further appealed to community leaders, youth groups, and other stakeholders to protect government infrastructure and electricity facilities within their communities, stressing that safeguarding public assets is essential to achieving sustainable development.
Anoka reaffirmed the state government’s determination and commitment to ensure that every disconnected community is reconnected and enjoys the benefits of reliable electricity.
