The NDC is set to adopt consensus candidacy for all elective positions nationwide, covering the Presidency, Governorships, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats.
This initiative follows the inauguration of the Selection Committee, tasked with thoroughly consulting aspirants and making final recommendations for single candidacy for all offices. The Committee will communicate its decisions to the aspirants for adoption.
Where consensus cannot be reached for any reason, elections will be conducted for such isolated cases.
This is a welcome development, For a party that is only five months old, it is crucial to avoid divisive, costly, and exhaustive primaries at this stage. Consensus ensures unity, focus, and strength as the NDC grows.
