President Bola Tinubu, represented by Finance Minister Wale Edun, praised NDDC MD Dr. Samuel Ogbuku at his 50th birthday and book launch in Abuja, urging him to continue delivering impactful projects in the Niger Delta. The two books launched were “Strategies and Imperatives for Developing Niger Delta” and “Rethinking the Niger Delta.”
Tinubu described Ogbuku as a transformational leader and emphasized the region’s importance to Nigeria’s economic and environmental future.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Ogbuku for restoring credibility to the NDDC, noting two years of stable and effective leadership.
NDDC Board Chairman Chiedu Ebie called Ogbuku a collaborative and effective CEO.
In response, Ogbuku thanked President Tinubu for the trust and inspiration behind the Commission’s ongoing reforms, and called for stronger collaboration with Niger Delta governors for sustainable development.
The event drew several high-profile attendees, including ministers, governors, and military chiefs.
