ASABA, Tuesday 8th September 2026 – The Sheriff Junior Support Team SJST has pledged to deepen grassroots mobilization for the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The team led by its Convener and National Coordinator Comr Matthew Obukohwo Obriki made the pledge on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Environment Delta State Hon Moses Ogodo in his office in Asaba.
Comr Obriki who is also Special Assistant on Media to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Media Aide to HRM Orhue 1 Orodje Of Okpe Kingdom and National Speaker of Okpe Youths Council Worldwide said SJST was established to enlighten citizens on government policies and link Deltans to jobs skills and empowerment opportunities.
He disclosed that the group has a structured presence in all 25 Local Government Areas 270 Wards and polling units across the state with trained mobilizers at community level.
According to him the purpose of the visit was to appreciate the Commissioner for his contributions to Sapele and Delta State, brief him on SJST activities and seek his guidance and partnership for the proposed Delta Community Engagement Summit 2026.
The team also congratulated him on his appointment as the Honourable Commissioner and member of the Delta State Executive Council.
The Summit themed MORE Prosperity for All Skills Jobs Inclusion and Opportunities is scheduled to hold from September to November 2026. It will run for one day in each of the 25 LGAs and in selected tertiary institutions.
Obriki said the summit will feature panel sessions exhibitions of MORE Agenda projects registration for skills and job programs entrepreneurship clinics an inclusion desk for women youths and PWDs campus outreach health outreaches and media campaigns.
He added that the program is designed to enlighten citizens on government projects programs empowerment employment infrastructure and human capital development while increasing awareness of both federal and state achievements.
He noted that the initiative is expected to directly link over 10,000 citizens to federal and state government programs and strengthen APC structures across the state.
The team requested the Commissioner’s endorsement logistics support resource persons from MDAs publicity and partnership for empowerment items.
Also Sheriff Junior Support Team SJST is mobilizing and canvassing support for all the APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. They also urge all Delta electorates to queue and rally behind the developmental strides of the MORE agenda of His Excellency Rt Hon Elder Sheriff F O Oborevwori Executive Governor of Delta State and Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency Sen Ahmed Tinubu President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Responding Hon Ogodo commended SJST for the structure and statewide representation. He endorsed the summit and pledged support for the initiative.
The Commissioner a former Chairman of Sapele Okpe Community and renowned businessman and philanthropist said he is aligning with the Governor’s blueprint on infrastructure and human capital development.
He was joined by Permanent Secretaries and top officials of the Ministry during the meeting. Ogodo also urged the team to forward the proposed schedule so the program can kick off noting that it will have great impact on government and the people.
The summit proposal was presented to the Commissioner during the visit.
