ASABA — The Sheriff Junior Support Team, SJST, on Friday, July 31, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Special Projects, Delta State, Hon. Barr. Brave Oyinkuro Enodeh, at his office in Asaba.
The delegation was led by the Convener and National Coordinator of SJST, Comrade Matthew Obukohwo Obriki, who is also the Special Assistant on Media to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Addressing the Commissioner, Comr. Obriki described SJST as a grassroots mobilization and advocacy platform committed to the enlightenment and full implementation of the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
He said SJST has a well-structured leadership cutting across Polling Units, Wards, Federal Constituencies, Local Government Areas, Senatorial Districts, and State/National levels, covering all 25 LGAs and 270 Wards in Delta State.
Comr. Obriki commended Hon. Enodeh for his track record as a youth and student leader, noting that his appointment reflects the Governor’s commitment to youth development, skills acquisition, job creation, and digital empowerment in the state.
“We are here to formally identify with you, to appreciate your contributions to the state, and to seek collaboration in advancing youth inclusion and prosperity across Delta State,” Comr. Obriki stated.
He assured the Commissioner of SJST’s readiness to work with the Ministry of Youth Development and Special Projects to deepen grassroots engagement and mobilize support for government programs targeted at youths, women, artisans, students, and Persons Living with Disabilities.
In his response, Hon. Barr. Brave Oyinkuro Enodeh thanked the SJST leadership for the visit and pledged to work with the group to ensure that government policies and programs reach the grassroots.
The Commissioner, who was sworn in on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, reiterated the commitment of the Oborevwori administration to youth empowerment and inclusive governance.
He urged SJST members to remain disciplined and focused in their mobilization drive, adding that the Ministry would explore areas of partnership with the group to expand opportunities for Delta youths.
The visit ended with prayers and a group photograph.
