The Sheriff Junior Support Team, SJST, has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilization in support of the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
The group made this known on Thursday, July 30, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Delta State, Hon. Chief Peter Uviejitobor, at his office in Asaba.
Leading the delegation, the Convener and National Coordinator of SJST, Comrade Matthew Obukohwo Obriki, who also serves as Special Assistant on Media to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, said the visit was to formally identify with the Commissioner and appreciate his contributions to the development of Delta State.
“Hon. Chief Uviejitobor’s trajectory from the Delta State House of Assembly, through his service as Special Adviser, Executive Assistant, and Senior Special Assistant on Oil and Gas, to his current role as Commissioner, reflects consistency, loyalty, and capacity. His experience is critical to ensuring peace, investment, and development in our oil-bearing communities,” Obriki said.
SJST described itself as a grassroots advocacy and enlightenment platform committed to the full implementation of government policies at the ward level.
The group disclosed that its organizational structure cuts across all levels of the state. With this structure, SJST covers all 25 LGAs, 270 Wards, all Federal Constituencies, and Polling Units in Delta State.
The group noted that it remains focused on sensitizing citizens on the benefits of the MORE Agenda and Renewed Hope Agenda. It is also mobilizing support for the APC and the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori across Delta State.
Comr. Obriki emphasized that SJST is working to ensure that no group is left behind in the development process.
“We believe that real governance is felt at the grassroots. That is why SJST has positioned itself to ensure that women, youths, artisans, students, and Persons Living with Disabilities are carried along in the development process,” he stated.
He added that the team will intensify town hall engagements, voter education, and community outreaches in the coming months to deepen public understanding of government programs, especially in the oil and gas sector.
Comr. Obriki pledged SJST’s unalloyed support to the Commissioner, to His Excellency the Governor, and to the strategic alignment between Abuja and Asaba.
He said the alignment is necessary “for the progress and prosperity of Delta State and Nigeria.”
The Commissioner, Hon. Chief Uviejitobor, received the delegation and commended SJST for its structure and commitment to grassroots mobilization. He assured the group of his support in advancing peace and development in Delta’s oil-producing communities and the state at large.
