The Organisation for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC) has intensified public awareness efforts ahead of the 20th edition of the Anioma Cultural Festival, scheduled for Easter Monday.
Speaking during a sensitization programme on Trend 100.9FM on Thursday, March 26, 2026, a delegation from the cultural body highlighted the significance of the annual event and called on the Anioma people to participate actively.
The delegation included the General Secretary of OFAAC, Mr. Monn Olodu; Director, Mr. Emmanuel Ogwu; and Media Consultant, Comrade Patrick Ochei. They discussed ongoing preparations for the festival, as well as related initiatives such as the Anioma Heritage Project.
The team emphasized that the festival remains a vital platform for preserving and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Anioma people. They urged residents and cultural enthusiasts to attend in large numbers and take pride in their traditions.
OFAAC also acknowledged the contributions of key sponsors and partners, including Contemporary Group Ltd, Zenith Bank, Grand Oak Distillers (makers of Seaman’s Aromatic Schnapps), and MTN, for their continued support in sustaining the festival as a major cultural event.
The festival is slated to commence at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s College, Asaba. Traditional rulers are expected to attend as patrons, alongside the state governor, government officials, and culture enthusiasts from within and outside the Anioma region.
