The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has revealed plans to work closely with the All Progressives Grand Alliance to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The state APC chairman, Basil Ejidike, made this known on Tuesday during a stakeholders meeting held in Awka.
Ejidike said the party is collaborating with the ruling APGA in Anambra, led by Governor Charles Soludo, to deliver 95 percent of the state’s votes to Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential race.
He also moved a motion at the meeting for the Anambra APC to officially adopt Tinubu as its presidential candidate for 2027. The motion received support from party stakeholders, including Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC governorship candidate for the November 8 election in the state, and his running mate, Uche Ekwunife.
Ejidike explained that the stakeholders meeting was convened to enable the Congress Harmonising Committee to organise party members at the unit, ward and local government levels ahead of the ward congress scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
Speaking at the gathering, Ukachukwu stressed the importance of discipline and unity within the party. He said the APC in Anambra can only grow if members focus on doing the right things and avoid actions that could create division.
He also criticised the trend of party members defecting to other political parties and later returning to reclaim their former positions without giving others a chance to rise through the ranks.
The development signals early political alignment ahead of the 2027 general election, as parties in Anambra begin internal mobilisation and strategic partnerships.
