The Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen, has stated that statistic, data collation are dynamic duo , intertwined and cannot be separated, as they rely heavily on each other to produce accurate and reliable data that inform economic planning and decision-making.
The commissioner stated when he played host to facilitators from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) who were on a courtesy visit to his office.
The spontaneous nature of your visit notwithstanding, its timing is impeccable and will yield significant benefits for the state.
Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the World Bank and NBS for their thoughtful gesture in enhancing the capacity of statisticians within the state.
Mr. Bartholomew Ngwee, an NBS staff/ facilitator thanked the commissioner for his hospitality, highlighting Delta State’s impressive track record of being among the leading states in computing GDP annually, a testament to the state’s thriving economy.
Earlier, Ms Nkechi Madumezia, Director of Statistics, introduced the NBS staff to the commissioner as facilitators of the upcoming 3-day training workshop.
