Hilda Baci has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing an impressive 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz). This achievement cements her status as a cultural ambassador for Nigerian cuisine and showcases the global appeal of West African food.
The record-breaking attempt was part of the “Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci” event, held at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria. Thousands of people gathered to witness the spectacle, which featured live music, food sampling, and engaging activities. The event was a grand celebration of Nigerian cuisine and community spirit.
The massive jollof rice dish was made with an enormous amount of ingredients, including 4,000 kg of washed basmati rice, 164 kg of fresh goat meat, 220 kg of Gino Asun and peppered chicken cubes, and 600 kg of jollof pepper mix. Approximately 20,000 people were fed with the record-breaking dish, making it a truly remarkable achievement.
