The 2nd Edition of the 2025 Ighele World Conference was marked with praise, unity, and resounding endorsements, as the event recorded outstanding success.
The conference, which brought together Urhobo sons and daughters from across the globe, served as a platform to celebrate culture, strengthen communal ties, and inspire the youth towards purposeful leadership and service.
Dignitaries in attendance included the Delta State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Sen. Emmanuel Aguariavwodo; Senator representing Delta Central, Sen. Ede Dafinone; President General of UPU, Chief Ese Gam; Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ejiro Jamani; Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Kelly Oghenekevwe; Executive Director of Nexim Bank, Hon. Stella Okotete; celebrated entertainer, Ali-Baba, alongside several other distinguished Urhobo sons and daughters.
A key highlight of the event was the interactive panel session, which rekindled in the minds of Urhobo youths the importance of unity, love, and mutual support, while also challenging them to embrace leadership responsibilities in community and nation-building.
The grand finale of the conference climaxed with a unanimous motion by the Ighele Youths endorsing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office. The endorsement, anchored on his leadership achievements and commitment to development, was seconded and overwhelmingly adopted by all present.
The event ended on a celebratory note, with commendations, cultural displays, and renewed confidence in the capacity of Urhobo youth to uphold their heritage while preparing for the leadership of tomorrow.
