The Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Sir Okenmor Fidelis Tilije, JP, on Thursday, 11th June 2026, paid the 3rd term school fees for over 1,000 students of Model Technical College, Obiaruku.
The gesture, described as a major relief for parents and guardians, underscores the Commissioner’s continued commitment to education and youth development in Delta State.
As part of his appreciation for their dedication, Sir Tilije also gifted ₦3 million to the school staff. He thanked them for nurturing the next generation of leaders and professionals.
Addressing the students through his Senior Special Assistant, Comr. Andy Atumah, the Commissioner urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies.
“You must start preparing yourselves for the future now,” he said. “Many of those in leadership today, including our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, started just like you, in classrooms. What distinguishes success is focus, humility, and hard work.”
The Principal of Model Technical College, Obiaruku, Mrs. Veronica Adaeze Eligbue, represented by the Deputy Principal, Pastor Anthony Ogonegbu, expressed deep gratitude to the Commissioner for what she described as “an extraordinary act of kindness and commitment to humanity.”
