Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Nominates Mr. Brave Oyinkro Enodeh into the State Executive Council
Delta State Public and Private Properties Protection Amendment Bill scales first reading
The Delta State House of Assembly, on Wednesday, received a letter from the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, nominating Mr. Brave Oyinkro Enodeh as a member of the State Executive Council.
The letter, which was read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, stated that the nomination was in line with the relevant provisions guiding appointments into the State Executive Council.
Following the announcement, the Speaker directed the nominee to submit thirty-five copies of his Curriculum Vitae to the Office of the Clerk on or before Wednesday, June 10, and appear before lawmakers for screening on Thursday, June 11.
In another development during plenary, the Leader of the House, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, moved a motion for the first reading of the Delta State Public and Private Properties Protection Amendment Bill, which was seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon. Perkins Umukoro. The Speaker subsequently adjourned further debate on the bill to June 16 for second reading.
Also, the Delta State Landlord and Tenant Bill was referred to the House Committee on Housing for further legislative scrutiny. The committee comprises Honourable Frank Esenwa, Hon Edefe Emakpor, Hon Bridget Anyafulu, Hon Spencer Owhofa, Hon Matthew Omonade, Hon Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, Hon Egbetamah Collins, and Hon Bernard Odior.
The committee is expected to report back within two weeks.
