The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, on his well-deserved “Christian Icon of the Year” award by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, at its national event in Abuja.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker, on behalf of his family, the people of Warri South-West Constituency and the Delta State House of Assembly, described the honour as no surprise, noting that it speaks eloquently to the Governor’s life of deep piety, uncommon humility and consistent demonstration of Christian virtues in public service.
According to Guwor, Governor Oborevwori has led Delta State with the fear of God, a conscience for equity, and a heart for the people, adding that his administration remains a true reflection of Godly and servant leadership.
“By this national acknowledgment from the Body of Christ, you have once again brought pride to Delta State. Your life remains an inspiring example that faith and governance can work together for good,” Guwor stated.
The Speaker further described the award as a resounding affirmation of the Governor’s steadfast walk with God, peaceful disposition, and people-centred approach to governance.
“As a House, we have witnessed firsthand your commitment to godliness, good governance, and the unity and progress of Delta State. This award, therefore, is a reward for your consistent faith-driven leadership”, he added.
Guwor said the entire leadership and Honourable Members of the Delta State House of Assembly are proud to be associated with the Governor’s success story.
He prayed that the Almighty God, who has honoured him before men, will continue to endow him with divine wisdom and uncommon strength to fulfill his dreams for Deltans and propel him to greater service to God and mankind.
