Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has called on the people of Rivers State to participate massively in the 2027 general elections and ensure that their votes are counted and their mandate respected.
Obi made the call after an NDC town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, where he discussed issues including employment, healthcare, education, security and economic opportunities. He said Rivers State could set the pace for free, fair and credible elections in 2027.

He also stressed that only leaders who emerge through a transparent and credible electoral process can legitimately claim the mandate of the people.
