The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, is mourning the death of his uncle, High Chief Council Guwor, the Olotu of Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area.
The revered community leader passed away at the age of 89.
A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker described the late Olotu as an embodiment of wisdom, a committed statesman and a proud symbol of the Guwor legacy and Ogulagha Kingdom.
He said the late chief dedicated his life to peace-building, unity and the overall advancement of his people and the Niger Delta region.
According to Guwor, the passing of his uncle, who was among the most senior traditional figures in the kingdom, is a monumental loss to the Guwor family, Ogulagha Kingdom and the entire Ijaw nation.
“High Chief Council Guwor, the Olotu of Ogulagha Kingdom and my dear uncle, has answered the final call at 89. Indeed, a major pillar of Ogulagha Kingdom has fallen.
“My late uncle was a father figure, a peace advocate and a bridge-builder. His decades of service greatly shaped the unity and development of Ogulagha and its environs”, Guwor stated.
The Speaker prayed for the repose of the soul of the late octogenarian.
