Led Motion For Vote Of Confidence On Tinubu, Oborevwori, Onowakpo At APC Integration Meeting in Isoko South
The Member Representing Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief) Ferguson Onwo, has again expressed appreciation to the state government for embarking on the five point four kilometer Igbide-Olomoro link road project.
Hon Onwo gave the commendation at the weekend during a guided tour to some ongoing project sites, embarked upon by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s led administration in Isoko South 2 Constituency
The lawmaker, who was accompanied by some constituents, said the Igbide-Olomoro link road project will open up the locality for greater socioeconomic transformation.
He thanked the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for not only the award of the 5.4 kilometer road but funding it and also ensuring the early completion of the project.
Adding that Igbide and Olomoro are major oil and gas producing communities in Isoko nation, Hon Onwo who is the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Health, pledged the people’s support to government’s efforts towards peace and development in the state.
A Deputy Director in the State Ministry of Works, Engr Rex Okre, who briefed the lawmaker on the progress of work on the project, said it is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
He expressed optimism that the contracting firm handling the project for the state government would maintain the speed of work as well as quality to achieve the set goals.
Some Leaders of Igbede and Olomoro communities who spoke appreciated the state government for coming to their rescue as the bad state of that road had caused untold suffering to the people.
They said over three decades the road was neglected despite several attention to it, saying that upon completion, the communities will be open up to enhance economic activities.
The people who also expressed gratitude to Hon Ferguson Onwo for his genuine interest to attract the dividends of democracy to the constituency promised their support at all times to the present government.
Meanwhile, a vote of confidence was at the weekend passed on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Joel Onowakpo by political leaders in Isoko nation.
The people during the Renewed Hope for MORE agenda integration meeting, held at Emede in Isoko South local government area, resolved to support the reelection of the trio in 2027 general elections
The motion for the Vote of Confidence was moved by the Member representing Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State Assembly, Hon Ferguson Onwo and seconded by Dr Sylvester Enoyona and adopted.
Senator Onowakpo, representing Delta South Senatorial District in the Nigeria Senate, who was the Convener of the integration meeting, said both the old and new APC members should be united and form a common front towards the 2027 general elections.
He appealed to all political stakeholders to work for the unity and progress of the party, adding that those who win their unit, wards, and local government would be rewarded.
Onowakpo explained that the President is the leader of the party at the national level, while the governor is the leader of the party in the state, saying that anyone thinking otherwise is going against the rules.
He said there are no vacancies in the offices of the President and Governor of Delta State in 2027, as the incumbent occupants have performed creditable well that deserves reelection and called for massive support
Senator Onowakpo assured of seamless and rancor free elections in 2027, saying “it is time we embraced ourselves as brothers and sisters, free from toxic politics”.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC for the warmth reception of the Delta State Governor to the ruling party, stressing that the development was a boost to the Renewed Hope strides of Mr President.
Senator Onowakpo commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the massive infrastructural development across the state, pointing out that the Asaba-Ughelli dual garage way project which is near completion, the Warri and Uvwie flyover bridges, amongst others were worthy of mention.
Political office holders and leaders who spoke, including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Johnson Erijo, described the integration meeting as apt and appreciated the Senator representing Delta South for conveying the meeting.
They promised never to renege on their support for peace, political stability, and development, even as they resolved to work and win all positions for the party in the 2027 general elections.
