Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ofagbe Ward 04, Isoko North LGA, on Sunday, passed an implicit vote of confidence on the trio of His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and leader of the party in the ward and Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Oghenero Okoro, Ph.D.
The unanimous vote of confidence was given when the leadership of the party in the ward held the first stakeholders meeting of the year 2025, at the country home of the party’s leader in Ofagbe.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by the Chairman of the PDP in the ward, Mr Aki Oromena Nathaniel and seconded by the Councillor representing Ofagbe Ward 04 at the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Hon. Aso Kingsley.
In his remark while moving the motion, Mr Oromena said that, based on the visible political appointments given to sons and daughters of the ward, the relationship that exists between the Governor and the people of Ofagbe, economic empowerment programmes, developmental projects that are sited in the ward particularly the ongoing road project in the ward, the leaders of the party in the ward are satisfied with the Governor’s excellent style of leadership, thus, worthy of the vote of confidence being passed on him.
In same vein, a vote of confidence was passed on the leader of the party in the ward, Rt. Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Okoro who stood and still standing for PDP in Ofagbe, for his outstanding leadership prowess, being a solid source of inspiration to the PDP and the Ofagbe community in general, and whose style of leadership galvanize the PDP in the ward, the Isoko-North and Delta at large.
In his remarks, the Leader of the PDP in Ofagbe Ward 04 and Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, Ph.D, said that the meeting was conveyed in order to thank the entire party leaders and stakeholders for the continuous support for the party and to keep them abreast of the happenings in the party, particularly the developmental agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
He expressed appreciation to the entire leadership of the party for the vote of confidence passed on him and the people-oriented Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori.
Dr. Emmanuel Okoro, who doubles as Chairman of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, while charging the party Chairman and his executive to work in harmony with all party members to promote unity and equity, assured of his continuous efforts to promoting the party at all levels and bringing more development to Ofagbe.
He noted that the confidence vote on the Governor shows that the party quite appreciate the works of the Governor, stressing that it would further encourage and strengthen the Governor to do MORE for the betterment of the people and development of the community.
Reemphasizing the Governor’s promises, Dr. Emmanuel Okoro assured that the ongoing road project in the community was never abandoned, stressing that the Governor is so much interested in the project which links both Isoko North and South communities, from Ellu down to Ada, and work will commence in earnest to complete the project due time.
Leaders present at the meeting included the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State Legislature and Leader of the party in the ward, Rt Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Okoro; Senior Special Assistants to the Governor, Hon. Ajiri Umukoro and Hon. Omita Obuke Daniel; Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilization, Mrs Ilize Felicia; Prince Ezie Sunday Okotiebor; Chairman of the Party, Mr. Aki Oromena Nathaniel and His Exco.
Others were the Councillor representing Ofagbe ward 04, Hon. Aso Kingsley; President General of Ofagbe Kingdom, Engr. Cyril Jeke and His Exco; Former Councillors of the ward, Hon. Japhet Onojame, Hon. Ichakor Sakadi and Hon. Jimmy Obruthe; Former President General of Ofagbe Kingdom, Hon. Matthew Akpofa; Former Party Chairmen and a host of other stakeholders.
