The Chairman, Nigeria Majority Leaders’ Forum, Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly and member representing Aniocha North Constituency, Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, Ph.D., has utterly expressed dismay over unfounded stories published in a social media platform, purporting that the Delta State four in one court project located at Issele-Uku, the headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area, has been abandoned by the government.

It should be recalled that consequent upon a fire outbreak that destroyed the State High Court Issele-Uku, while the court building was on the verge of renovation by the government, Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi initiated a robust political action that led to his securing state approval for the construction of an entirely new building within the community that would rather accommodate a High Court, Magistrate Court, Revenue Court, and Customary Court, in place of the destroyed High Court building; a first of its kind in the entire Delta State.

As a pragmatic representative of his Constituency, Nwaobi did not relent after the state approval as he followed up with everything possible to ensure the smooth take off of the project. Since then, there has been no disputing the fact that work has been in progress as the project continued to receive government’s attention, even as the State House Majority Leader had at intervals physically visited the project site for an on the spot assessment of the level and quality of work being done, with a view to assuring that the contractual terms are not by any means compromised by the contractor.

Interestingly, the stage the court project has assumed presently, with the Plaster of Paris (POP) work going on, installation of aluminium window frames, and dressing of floors for tiling, Hon. Nwaobi averred that there is no credible government that would conceive the idea of abandoning such laudable project that has the potential of not only bringing social development to bear on the local government as well as the State in general, but a veritable source of job creation, both formal and informal on its completion, stating that project abandonment has no place in the M.O.R.E agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, whose administration has as a policy, the delivery of democracy dividends to every nook and cranny of the State.

The Chairman, Nigeria Majority Leaders’ Forum kicked against the attitude of some government critics whose actions are based on hearsay and advised on the crucial need for such critics to evolve credible verification strategy before feeding the unsuspecting public with wrong and misleading information that is capable of running down government and her good developmental efforts towards the transformation of the various local government areas in the state.

Nwaobi called on the good people of Issele-Uku and Aniocha North in general to continue to support the sound political administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, urging them not to give in to the antics of the opposition parties who are only desirous of clinching power from the state ruling party but without anything to offer, insisting that Delta State is a strong base of the Peoples Democratic Party, not just because of its dominance, but because PDP has the vision for the state to assume a good socio-economic transformative heights, with quality men and women that would always bring the party’s vision to a reality.
