
Lagos socialite Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, was released Tuesday evening after being questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged Naira abuse and defacing of foreign currency.
He was arrested Monday night at his Omole residence in Lagos for allegedly spraying U.S. dollars in violation of the Foreign Exchange Act and taken to the EFCC’s Abuja office.
Following his release, E-Money thanked supporters via Instagram, assuring them all was well. Cubana Chief Priest also celebrated the news online, praising God for his friend’s freedom.
EFCC sources confirmed investigations are ongoing and charges may follow. Official confirmation from the agency’s spokesperson was still pending at the time of reporting.
