As the world celebrates Workers’ Day today Thursday May 1st 2025, the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Hon. Onoriode Oborevwori, has extended warm congratulations to the workers and athletes of the commission. In his message, Hon. Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the workforce, emphasizing that their dedication is crucial to the state’s sporting success.
He encouraged the athletes and staff to remain focused and united, especially as they gear up for the upcoming National Sports Festival in Ogun State. Hon. Oborevwori urged them to approach the competition with a winning mentality, assuring them of the commission’s full support.
The Chairman also highlighted the significant impact of the MORE Agenda of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, on sports development. He assured that the agenda would continue to enhance the growth of athletes through the improvement of sports facilities across the 25 local government areas of the State and the provision of a world-class stadium.
Hon. Oborevwori extended his gratitude to the union leadership for fostering peace and cooperation within the commission. He thank the Delta State Sports Commission workers both retirees and present workers, while also acknowledged the commendable contributions of the immediate past Director-General, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, to the development of both staff and athletes.
In closing, Hon. Oborevwori wished all workers of the Delta State Sports Commission a happy and fulfilling Workers’ Day.
