
Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has expressed joy over progress being made by a good number of local government councils in the state.
Rt Hon Guwor who stated this on Monday, while commissioning the remodeled official residence of the Chairman, Isoko South, in Oleh, headquarters of the Local Government Council, explained that key infrastructures were required to fasttrack development at the grassroots.
The Speaker stated that the remodeled residence is not just a physical structure, but symbolizes the Council’s efforts to promote good governance in Isoko South local government area.
He also noted that the achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Chairman of the local government, Comrade Voke Warri and his team.
Guwor maintained that the leadership of Isoko South has demonstrated commitment to providing quality services and infrastructure to the people of the local government area.
The Speaker commended the Chairman for his vision and leadership in making the project a reality.
He also appreciated the support of the legislative arm of the Council, Supervisory Councillors and the people of Isoko South, without whom the achievement would not have been possible.
“I commend the Council Boss, Hon Friday Warri for complimenting the MORE AGENDA of our amicable Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori.
“As we commission this residence, let us remember that it is a symbol of our collective efforts to build a better future for Isoko South.
“Let us continue to work together to promote development, peace, and prosperity in this local government area and Delta state at large”
“Congratulations once again to the Chairman and the people of Isoko South”, Guwor stated.
The Speaker assured the people of Isoko South Local Government Area that the development programme of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as encapsulated in his MORE agenda is on course and that the Isoko nation will continue to enjoy its pride of place in the comity of ethnic nationalities.
Guwor said the Asaba-Ughelli dualization project would soon be completed and commissioned, noting that the 29 members of the State House of Assembly are happy with the achievements and development strides of Governor Oborevwori and would continue to support his leadership in the state.
Chairman, Isoko South Local Government Council, Comrade Voke Warri, said Isoko South is safe and open to investors to invest in the local economy, saying that the project being commissioned would further promote growth and good governance in the locality.
“I am pleased to announce to you that one of the very first things we did when we assumed office was to meet with all relevant security agencies to make Isoko South a safe place for all.
“We also embarked on road rehabilitation of varying degrees in our first few months in office. We will continue to carry out palliative measures to ease the burden of road users”, Warri said.
The Council Boss thanked the leaders and people of Isoko South Local Government Area, for their belief in his capacity to chart a greater Isoko South, stating that it was a privilege to serve and bring the dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.
The highlights of the ceremony were cutting of tape to officially commission the new Chairman’s residence and unveiling of the local government official logo.
