The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed a fatal accident near Nyanya Bridge on Wednesday, resulting in multiple casualties and the destruction of 14 vehicles.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, six victims were rescued from the wreckage but later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. However, eyewitnesses claim the death toll exceeds ten.
The incident occurred when a heavily loaded Dangote cement trailer lost control while approaching Nyanya Bridge from AYA, crashing into stationary vehicles caught in traffic. The impact triggered a massive fire, causing panic as bystanders and motorists scrambled for safety.
