The Kogi State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) strongly condemns the state government’s restrictions on rallies and convoy visits to the state. This move is clearly targeted at preventing the homecoming of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and it’s a blatant infringement on the fundamental rights to freedom of movement and freedom of association.

We believe that the government should use the instrumentality of the law to protect the rights of citizens, not to clamp down on opposition. Such restrictions have no place in a democratic society, where the freedom to assemble and express oneself is paramount.

We urge the state government to reconsider its stance and allow Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to exercise her right to freedom of movement and association. We also call on the relevant authorities to ensure that the rights of all citizens are protected and respected.

The PDP stands in solidarity with Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and the people of Kogi State, and we will continue to advocate for the protection of their rights and freedoms.
