The Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Michael Anoka, today conducted an inspection tour of the Asaba Independent Power Plant (IPP), as part of ongoing efforts to assess critical energy infrastructure and strengthen power delivery across Delta State.
The visit provided valuable insights into the operational capacity of the plant and its strategic role in supporting reliable electricity supply for government institutions, businesses, and residents within the state capital and its environs.

Speaking during the tour, the Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of the Delta State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, to advancing sustainable and efficient power solutions. He noted that the administration remains focused on leveraging existing assets and investing in innovative energy initiatives to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of citizens.
“Gov. Oborevwori led administration is fully prepared to take on the task of transforming Delta State’s power sector through strategic planning, infrastructure development, and sustainable energy solutions that will benefit our people and accelerate the overall development of the state,” the Commissioner stated.
The inspection underscores the government’s resolve to ensure optimal performance of key power facilities and to build a resilient energy framework that supports Delta State’s long-term development agenda.
